Client: Chemical Process Solutions Ltd

Profile:

Established in 2001, Chemical Process Solutions specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of thermoplastic plant. Their product range includes storage and process tanks, fume extraction and scrubbing systems and thermoplastic heat exchangers. Customers are located throughout the UK and Europe.

Problem:

CPS won a very large order from a company in the Republic of Ireland to design, manufacture and install a multi air scrubbing system. This piece of kit consists of dozens of parts and components that, in accordance with customs regulations, needed to be listed separately on the commercial invoice and customs declarations with the correct export and import HS codes from the UK and EU tariffs. CPS were very anxious to get everything right as any delay or problem at the Irish border would be catastrophic and very expensive.

Solution:

Working from the technical datasheets and manuals provided by CPS, The International Trade Consultancy was able to identify the correct export and import commodity codes specified in the UK and EU tariffs. Lucinda was also able to advise on the required information for the commercial invoices, the importance of including part/serial numbers wherever possible, and the best way to move the installation equipment in to and out of Ireland without attracting unnecessary duties.

Everything has gone great at our end with paperwork so thank you for all your help not sure if we mentioned previously but you were the third consultant we’d approached for help and you did more in 48 hours for us than the other did in 6 weeks! Once again thank you so much for the help given, I’ll certainly pass on your details if anyone I know needs any import/export assistance
