Profile:

My Sports & More is an eco-friendly, sustainable, zero waste medal manufacturer located in Telford. In addition to being the world’s only zero waste medal producer they also offer their clients the advantages of no minimum orders and will take back unused medals for credit towards the next order. Plus, if your event is raising money for charity you may be eligible for 50% off the cost of your medals. Manufactured from sustainable wood or Welsh slate, the medals can be natural or full colour.

Problem:

Having had huge success at various running and sports trade shows in the UK, My Sports & More decided it was time to attack the American market by exhibiting at The Run Show USA in Chicago, June 2022. However, they had never exported their zero-waste medals before and didn’t know what was involved and how to prepare.

Solution:

During a Zoom call The International Trade Consultancy established that My Sports and More needed help with;

  • Tariff classification
  • Incoterms
  • Quality marking
  • Finding a suitable logistics partner
  • The correct CPC to use for temporarily sending their exhibition equipment to toe USA so that import duty can be avoided on the outward and return journeys
  • The correct information to include and format of the commercial invoice
  • Customs declarations
  • Overseeing the shipments of the exhibition equipment and the first order to a customer

In addition to these services, The International Trade Consultancy put My Sports & More in touch with their local Department for International Trade office who confirmed that funding was available for all costs associated with the trade show up to a value of £9,000. This has dramatically reduced the risk of expanding in to a new market for the first time.

 

Project Two

 

Problem:

My Sports & More are completely new to exporting and don’t want to risk making any costly mistakes. In addition to using The International Trade Consultancy to help with researching the correct HS codes, advising on Incoterms and potential logistics partners, identifying import duties payable and providing correct information to include on their commercial invoices for when they start exporting to the USA, they wanted the peace of mind that an expert was always on hand to help with any problems or just questions they didn’t understand.

Solution:

Our monthly retainer service gives companies access to an international trade expert whenever they need it without the cost of employing someone. Through us, our clients can take advantage of a huge network of contacts and resources that would otherwise not be available to them or would cost a lot of money. The monthly retainer service is exceptionally good value for the peace of mind it brings.

 

Everything has gone great at our end with paperwork so thank you for all your help not sure if we mentioned previously but you were the third consultant we’d approached for help and you did more in 48 hours for us than the other did in 6 weeks!
